How the flood zone checker works
Enter the postcode
We find the postcode and check it against the river and sea flood map for its country: the Environment Agency in England, SEPA in Scotland and Natural Resources Wales in Wales.
Read the zone
In England, Flood Zone 1 is the lowest chance of river or sea flooding and Flood Zone 3 the highest. Scotland and Wales use their own bands, and we show them as published.
Check the house, not just the postcode
A postcode can cover homes on higher and lower ground. The full report checks the house itself, and adds surface water flooding and, in England, places that have flooded before.

Does a postcode flood zone apply to every house in it?
Not always. Flood zones follow the ground, not postcode boundaries, so homes in one postcode can be in different zones. The full report checks the house itself.
